The Tacoma Arts Month letterpress poster by Beautiful Angle was designed, carved, written and printed in October 2014. This poster was a commission from the Tacoma Arts Commission in honor of, well, Tacoma Arts Month.
The text was printed with vintage lead type. The black image was a hand-carved linocut. The lightbulb image was a combination of a linocut and a massive selection of lead-type exclamation points, painstaking set in a circular pattern. The background image is also carved.
In other words, there’s a lot going on here. Whew.
