Description
The Year of the Ram letterpress poster was designed, written, carved and printed in February of 2015. The poster was created in support of the Tacoma Monkeyshines project, in honor of Chinese New Year.
The text was printed using a combination of wood and lead type. The image was hand cut from printer’s blanket, a rubbery fabric used in offset printing.
This is a single-color poster, but shows the impact that can be used with strong positive/negative space. The headline, Bang Your Head, is a reference to the song, Metal Health, by Quiet Riot.
